Hello everyone.

I've just released a brand new addon that let you play freely with blender 2.8 UI, allowing you to use functionalities that are common industry standards. Every other apps out there have it except blender.

Quickly call one of your custom "floater" and enjoy working in fullscreen while having a cool preview of your material floating around in your workspace.

  1. 1. You can unpin any window by pressing Shift and click at corner of the window. And it will work under any OS.
    2. Overlapping Windows contradict the basic principles (and they are!) on which the entire blender interface is built.

    • Thanks for this tip about unpinning windows. I wasn't aware of that and I'm a long-time Blender user. Not that I would need this too often, but it's good to know!

    • I work on multiple monitors so this whole "overlapping windows contradicts" thing I keep seeing IS NOT AN ISSUE.

Kinda seems like anyone with this concept in their head just can't see past their own workflow.

I want floating windows so I can customize my entire experience.

  2. Rombout Versluijs on

FLoating windows is a pain in the ass! its to much clicking. SOrry to say so. Docked panels and always visible is faster

This GIF here on this page is jsut a joke, i basically the same 2 times yet one time it gets an X and the other time a V.... your not selling anything like this

The first gif shows blender's floating windows, where when you click outside of it it puts the window you clicked in front, the second gif doesn't do it. Also, stop dissing addons that defeat the "principles" of Blender when it comes to UI... these addons are there for people who want them, it's good for people to have an option if they want floating windows or not. I've been using Blender for years and I myself have no need for floating windows, but I think this is a fantastic idea for people who do!

        • Just because you don't use or like something doesn't make it useless. That fact that you are so against floating windows just shows that you don't have any real experience in this kind of work.

  3. I use this fairly regularly, and its really helpful - especially for node work.
If your're on a single monitor you can get a lot mode screen space.
I think atm theres a couple of things that need ironing out.
Its also good for pulling up eg. a youtube vid to follow along too - without having to tit about with OS Always on top
