Thanks for this... I an anxious for 2.8 to get here (and be solid).
I have a feeling the impact on productivity will be so big, that Blender 2.8 will be the Windows Vista of Blender versions, 2 years and bye bye...
This is MOST welcome! I wish it would be also for EEVEE. Sorry, I didn't have time to view the video, but is it material based or object parameter based?
You have three options: material/object/asset (object groups) based.
