I am coding a tool that will allow us to remesh models with much more details for fewer polygons than would be necessary with the built-in octree remesh.
I will likely add this into Sculpt Tool Kit and release a free version also, but first needs polishing.

but isnt it a little unfair to compare 16k vs 9k verts?
its still a lot of geometry and will still need an optimisation for the edge flow
when would you use this instead of Manual retopology ?
Probably just used for sculpting as a remesher, or could maybe be useful for static objects in some cases.
