Google Poly Releases Blender Exporter

Poly is Google's WebGL platform. It's mainly used for exporting from tools like Tilt Brush, but supports 'direct uploads' as well. They've just released a Blender plugin that will let you export your work directly. It looks super simple: install the plugin, select the export option, sign in and the upload is done.

About Author

Bart Veldhuizen

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Google has been bullying Blender on Youtube, so why exactly should we promote their tech (primitive compared to Sketchfab btw)?

    • Because Google as a whole has done nothing. YouTube algorithm programmed by YouTube development department has been the problem. There is no big conspiracy by Google. You don't burn down a house because of a spider.

... or at least that's what my therapist said I shouldn't have done.
