Nice work! Question: why did you decide to use Blender to create this 2D visual style when a program like After Effects could have rendered this much faster?
If you configure things right I am sure rendering this out is close to real time in either of the engines cycles, BI or the viewport opengl render engine.

Using the OpenGL renderer in blender, you can render a video like this I real time. I don’t think even After Effects can touch that.

I use Blender to do 2D animation a lot. I think it is more powerful than After Effects and provides more options. The rendering speed is not an issue.
If the video editor were a bit more robust I might abandon AE completely…..but not quite yet. AE is still unique among software. No real competition, nothing like it that I have seen
