Peter Bartos takes a first shot at the CG weekly challenge creating this pleasing render of a guardian.

I am a sucker for large-to-small scale renders, there is just something very powerful about them. I am not sure what the actual term is called, if there is any. Anyone knows?

  1. For some reason, I don't get the "large" effect from the robot. It's very nicely modeled, but somehow the sense of scale is off. The walkway does help a bit, but not enough, I guess.

Overall, the clay render gives more impression of scale than the full render, which hides a lot of size indicating details in the background.

Maybe more small scale details on the ground would have helped. Boxes, persons .. that kind of thing.

I totally agree. Initially I planned to add some army trucks on the ground, and maybe some simple persons around, but the time was against me - this was made for the weekly cg challenge.
      Thanks for the feedback!
