INTRODUCTION
Hi, my name is Peter Černý, and I am a garden designer and architect. I am self-taught in 3D. My hobbies and passions besides living nature and history are visualizations in medieval style or design. I love these types of visualizations and would love to do some professional visualization of historical reconstruction someday.
INSPIRATION
The inspiration for this particular work arose spontaneously. I toyed with the idea of a medieval style building concept that I would put in close contact with greenery. Not to be a staged formal garden but to be a wild connection of nearby wild vegetation with flowering planting.
PROCESS
Hardware:
- CPU - Intel i5-4670K
- RAM - 16 GB
- GPU - Nvidia RTX 2060
- OS - Linux Mint 21.3
Defining the shape:
I started by modeling the bottom of the stone foundation of the building. At first, I played with creating a visualization of the ruin but later changed that idea. From there, I used the Wall Factory addon and experimented with its later shape. So as a base, I used the output from the wall factory which I then modified using the remesh modifier to give the wall a more natural look.
I also modeled some stones that I used for the corners of the building to get a more natural look overall.
Later, I added the openings, the roof, and some plants from the Botaniq addon.
Adding details:
In this part of the project, I adjusted some details like different curves and bumps.
I also incorporated some of my 3D plant models here to complete the picture. Here are the plants that I used:
Seasonal variation:
I made a few adjustments to encourage an autumnal feel, such as changing the lighting and adding a sense of dampness to the surroundings.
It was a game with the rotation of the sun in the Nishita Sky setting, its angle, and with the volumetrics setting.
Then there was an addition of a few autumn details.
Here, I did some winter adjustments with snow and found the right composition, lighting, and details.

I would LOVE to use a high resolution version of this work as a wallpaper! Any chance of making it available?
Hi, I hadn't counted on something like that. Which render image exactly are you interested in? I'll think about it :)
