Model mesh-editing layers are already implemented in some 3D software packages, and now as an add-on for Blender. Accent Pro for Blender is useful for the beginning 3D artist and the highly skilled professional alike.
Accent Pro v.1.1 allows you to store layers of your mesh in edit mode. If you copy your mesh, the layers and naming will copy with it. Version 1.1 is recently released and now allows high-polycount mesh layers.
