  1. Deleting the default Blender config files seems a little too 'hard-wired'. It needs to be a simple switch in Blender so the user doesn't have to keep re-loading the default config / Filmic config files depending on the project.

With all the presets to other cameras would it not make sense to merge the functionality and extend applicable attributes to these camera configurations?

    • Yes, you can use this on a Mac.

To install FILMIC BLENDER on a Mac

In the Applications folder go to the BLENDER folder and right-click on the application. Then click Show Package Contents in the pop-up menu.

In the Contents folder follow this trail of folders:
      - Resources
      - 2.78 (or current Blender version number)
      - datafiles

Within datafiles you will find the colormanagement folder. Rename colormanagement to colormanagement_OLD. Then place the filmic-blender-master folder into the datafiles folder and rename it to colormanagement. This replaces how Blender will handle color management.

In Blender insure that you go to the Scene Tab on the right and then down to the Color Management menu. Within Color Management go to the View setting. Change it from sRGB EOTF to Filmic Log Encoding Base.

Within your renders you need to crank up the light until you get the natural effect desired. Go review Blender Guru's tutorial on this on Youtube.

  3. Hello, after digging into directory "C://" of my computer for about 1h I couldn't find "blender"or anything like "blender foundation" folder I tried also in the search, but still no appearance.
Is there any other solution or way for installing the filmic blender? Or where else I could possibly look for the folder?
    Thank you

If you find the icon for Blender and right click on it, you should have a "Properties" at the bottom of the context sensitive menu that pops up. Click on "Properties." In the dialog box that pops up you should have a button that says "Open File Location." Note, if doing this from the task bar you will need to right click on the task bar button and then again on the Blender icon in the menu that pops up from the task bar, then finally select "Properties."
