Tutorial: Quick Glimpse on Sculpting a Dragon

1

Here's a nice step by step overview of how Blender World modeled this dragon.

Hey there guys, long time no see! In this session, I give you a quick glimpse on sculpting a dragon in Blender!

I will be showing you my process on sculpting the bust of a dragon. We will go from a simple cube to a concept you can use to build upon your own idea of a dragon.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Nice looking dragon!

I'm debating with myself whether I think the inside rim of the eyebrow looks too clean compared to the rest of the scale style.

Interesting workflow with the grease pencil. Is there any way to automate sculpt strokes with the grease pencil once you get your initial scale outlines drawn in?
