Half-Life 2 – Headcrab Sculpt

Anthony Pilon writes:

After playing the Half-Life series a while ago, I was surprised by the lack of headcrab renders out there and decided to change that.

I sculpted the mesh in Blender based on screenshots from the game, then painted the basic color map also in Blender before bringing it into Photoshop to overlay photo-textures. After that, it was back to Blender for lighting and shading in Cycles.

This character is also part of a small scene I’m making set in the abandoned town Ravenholm — I’ve been having fun modeling sawblades and old wooden panels. ;)
