Dennis Fassbaender shows us all the ins and outs of the new fracture modifier.
This is Dennis and im writing you because i have finished the introduction to the fracture modifier. It took many, many hours to finish that "small" video-project (more than 15 hours in total).
The introduction has 4 chapters:
1- welcome, basic things
2- fracture
3- simulation
4- amazing stuff, outroAfter watching the users will be able to make amazing fracture-videos- and they will love the workflow!
Because of many changes, improvements and fixes it would be good for everyone to download the latest build from my homepage www.df-vfx.de. I also made a new site, where you can see a change log.
What i´ve forgotten in the last mail: There is still one member we didn't talk about. Its Kai Kostack, known as KaiK. He is one of the 1st persons that has contact to scorpion81 and brought some good feature-ideas to the modifier, too. As well as testing the modifier.

Hi, the link to the homepage has a typo, it should be: http://www.df-vfx.de and the youtube link doesnt seem to work as well or is mis-placed above the head line.
Youtube says "video removed by the user" when the link is pasted into a browser (for me, anyway).
Ah yes, sorry, dennis re-uploaded the video with quieter background music, the new link is

All fixed, thanks!
Is already christmas today? Thanks! :)
If you want to fracture anything, I would suggest exporting the object as a .obj file and then importing it back in blender, works a lot and I've accomplished fracturing complex models in less than 5 seconds.
Check out the vfx simulations I've made using this awesome tool. https://youtube.com/jesus650rwc
And I have a feature idea where the object being used as helper deletes leaving only the wireframed copy that has the particles.
excellent tut guys should have watched that before staying up until 3 in the morning trying to figure shit out lol. i'll be watching that for a few days. as I'm setting things up very nice. I love breaking stuff.
