Lee Salvemini demonstrates the new sew feature for cloth in this new CG Masters tutorial.
Here is a quick tutorial from Lee Salvemini (Sintel, Elephants Dream) at CG Masters on the new addition to cloth simulation.
Lee for one will definitely be using it for future projects for higher quality cloth and clothing!Helpful Hotkeys:

anyone knows if it's possible to bake a cloth simulation in blender on a character and export the result animation so that i can use it in a game engine like unity ? so that if I make like a run cycle for a char i can then have a bake cloth simulation of a cape to parent it to the char in the engine or is not viable?

Yes, yes you can. Here is a discussion from 2011 that tells two different ways to do it.

But basically there is a bake to point cache button, that exports an mdd file, then remove the cloth modifier, bring in the mdd file and it should work just as if you were simulating it.
ohh nice thanks a lot I'll look in to it immediately
Also, more up to date directly from the blender site.

Seems to be a full workflow walkthrough, as well as explaining bake.
hmm the mdd file won't work in unity3d but the p2c probably will thanks to a script thanks anyway for the pionter to the thread
I think you can simply import the mdd file to blender, then export out as an animation for Blender's animation system. I haven't tried this, however.
Bah, I'd love to watch this video, but Vimeo and my video card/driver don't get along. The ONLY time my pc EVER crashes/locks up/etc is on Vimeo. I just randomly get a BSOD regarding my graphics card driver. Funny enough, I can't find anyone else with the same problem, but I do see some having the issue with Youtube.
I was hoping the new driver would be out soon, and I'd make double sure to clean out remnants of old drivers and such, but ATI is being slow with this new driver.
Hi Roger, sorry to hear about your vimeo troubles. It's also backed up on the YouTube page if that helps...

Hope you have better luck there. - Aidy :)
Thanks!
