I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Hi, nice tutorial but why in the heck do you need 40k Samples? For what? i saw it in your render settings?^^XDD

    • Well, since his other things are usually images, he probably has that set as his default render size. Also, if not using volumetrics or SSS, you can use the GPU to render. If you have a powerful enough GPU, 40000 samples really doesn't take very long unless the scene has a lot of detail in it, and like he said, you can set the samples really high and let the image render for a whole day if you want to. Unlike a video that you need to set the samples really low on because it will take a day+ to render the animation, even on a low sample rate.
