I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Nice tip, but in my opinion it isnt worth to use brain space for that.
Setting up your UI one time and you have no problems.

CTRL+ Arrow Key is your best friend to swtich through the different layouts.

I use this all the time.
Pro Tip: Get a mouse with programmable macro keys, and assign a few of these editor shortcuts for instant access.

  3. When you divide a window into two , is it possible to make the new viewport not be a duplicate of the first one, but to bring up a menu in it with the different choices (node editor, 3d viewport... )?
It can take some time to get all the divisions you'd like and the change each window to what you need it to be.
