Packt Publishing has released a new book in their 'Blender 2.6 - Cycles' series. This new volume is by Bernardo Iraci and focuses on lighting and rendering (the first volume was on materials and textures).

Bernardo Iraci writes:

Hello guys! Some days ago the new Blender Cycles: Lighting and Rendering Cookbook from PackT Publishing has been released. The book is for everyone who already knows his way in blender and want to learn Cycles. Both users who are starting to learn from scratch or that already have a basic knowledge of the rendering engine will find this book full of useful things to learn, tips and tricks. In the last chapters of the book also some more advanced topic is covered.

The book includes 9 chapters, each one covering the creation for materials, textures, lighting, render settings and compositing of a different scene. The chapters are presented in a logical way, in order to have a constant learning curve.

In the following link you will find more information about the book and the author, including a sample chapter.

This is a great resource to learn Cycles!

  1. Interesting! But the images in the sample chapter are really low quality black and white, can anyone tell if this is also the case with the full eBook?

  2. This is exactly the book I have been waiting for. Got it straight-away from Packt/O'Reilly's when I read about it here - I favour O'Reilly's because they are DRM-free publishers!! to my view, book publishing done right, don't treat me like a criminal by default - and so the slightly extra I paid is well worth the price. Not idea to read on a 7-inch tablet because the images don't scale real well, but still very readable... and incredibly informative.
