A Blender 2.68a is now available, the planning for 2.69 is being prepared.

Here's the notes from today's meeting in irc.freenode.net #blendercoders.
1) Blender 2.68a release review
- The 'a' release went out last week. It's been a bumpy release cycle again... several people in meeting expressed to try to organize this better. At least to do is:
- Better auto test
- Upgrade regression files
- Really be more strict in bcon4 period (code reviews, tests per commit)2) 2.69 planning and targets
- There's a list with possible targets in wiki.
- For next week, Ton Roosendaal will update the page with planning proposal.
- Suggested for release: limit adding features and find ways to get everyone finishing up stuff and fixing.
- Ton has to refresh module teams in wiki still. Remember, module ownership = responsible for bug fixing in the module!
3) Google Summer of Code
- Midterm evaluation starts monday, deadline is friday.
- Alexander Pinzon Fernandez posted another update video on Laplacian Surface editing:
4) Other projects
- Bastien Montagne wrote a proposal for upgrading our text drawing/handling, to get it fully suitable for any language.
Review on above continued after meeting. At least agreed on was to first fix the issues that can work with current code (especially for left-to-right characters).

Thanks for everything you do blender devs!
Did they ever do the 'preserve imported normals' function that that was listed early in the 2.68 release notes?
I can't find the "2.69 targets" section in the wiki.
Look here http://code.blender.org/index.php/2013/06/blender-roadmap-2-7-2-8-and-beyond/
Is the laplacian surface editing in graphicall yet? I was thinking of just adding a root bone to the character so that way it can move all over the place for animation instead of being stuck in one spot.
I found where to download it on BlenderArtist.org, but it seems to be missing a key component that it shows on the video which is the Laplacian Deform Modifier? Everything else is there though.
I just realized that it is an outdated version of it.
So long as the "self" expression makes it back into animation drivers, I'll be less on edge. Just can't stand the thought of seeing "2.7" without it!
Wow, the Laplacian Deform modifier is amazing. Can't wait to play with it.
