CG Cookie launches Concept Cookie

7

CG Cookie have launched a new site that focuses on concepts instead of applications.

Jonathan Williamson writes:

Concept Cookie, the newest of our tutorial sites, is geared towards providing conceptual and digital art tutorials on everything from characters to environments to vehicles. Our goal is to provide a tutorial resource that is not software specific but that can help a user get up to speed with their own art paths. Another goal is to tightly integrate it into our existing tutorial sites, such as Blender Cookie, to help cover all aspects of the development pipeline. In the near future we should have tutorials that take you from the very initial sketches to the final 3d modeling and rendering; making use of both sites.

Along with Concept Cookie we have also launched a full gallery feature so that people may upload their artwork to the CG Cookie sites! It's fairly simple at the moment but many more features are on the way.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Sounds pretty cool, I'd just been thinking about looking for some tutorials on sketching a couple weeks ago, and then I see this. I'll go check it out.
