Lech Sokolowski posted at CGArena a cool concept aircraft modeling tutorial. Through a text and image approach Lech starts with blocking out the proportions and goes into finer details doing some good hard surface SSD modeling. Enjoy

link or copied URL does not work
can someone provide the right link
thanks
happy 2.5
The url is correct, but the link behind is wrong.
I just copied by hand the url, and it works :
http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/misc/aircraft/modeling.html
Paraphrasing the tutorial:
To select part of the geometry (in this case to separate it from the rest of the mesh):
- select delimiting edge loop and hide it (alt+rightclick, H)
- select geometry you want to separate (aim and press L)
- made sure nothing else is connected (press A a couple of times)
- unhide (alt+H)
The geometry you want to separate is now selected (you can now just press P).
That's a pretty cool trick!
(sorry for the double post, but I forgot I wasn't signed-in and now I can't edit)
Note there is no real point in hiding the whole geometry before unhiding. The trick is purely based on the hiding of the edge loop so you can select the rest of the geometry with L.
This may have been a well-known trick for some, but it sure wasn't for me.
Technology is blinding....the link is just there in front of you ..its just doesn't click..
Time to use our wild instincts.......................................
Nice. But where is the Tutorial?
It's a falcon!
I am starting to doubt my english.
Bemesh will excellent for this kind of work.
Welcome to WordPress - I changed the link few times and it never got replaced.
I needed to erase most of it and retype a different text to be able to update the URL.
It is fixed now.
Why is there a Bungie watermark? Just curious.
The ship he's modelling is a "Falcon" from halo reach. Recognized it instantly.
its a falcon from Halo reach
A really good tutorial.
Any chance of it being available as a PDf at some point?
