Christoph Pöhler sent us a note that he uploaded his recent short movie called "Ely' bogey". This is a short animation inspired by mexican nursery rhyme and sang by Gerhard Schoene a german musician. In addition he also shares the complete Blender file including model, armature, textures, and fur.
Model Turntable:
What is inside the Blender file:
- Layer 1: ELy mesh
- Layer 11: Ely Armature
- Layer 2: Custom Shapes (Hidden)
- Layer 6: Basic Camera Rigg
- Layer 16: Basic Foto Background witch automatically changes Position to the Camera Rigg
- Layer 7: 2 Light Riggs
Each of this Light Rigg are made up by 2 Light
One Area Light for the Scene
One Spotlight for the Fur (Spotlight are the only light who are able to create Shadows for Strands)
The Texture are are 16 Times smaller as the Textures on the videos… (but it is still enough)
If you have any question regarding the rigg, model, texture, or blend file, you can leave a comment here, at the Blenderartist thread or contact Christoph through his E-Mail at [email protected].

Disgusting nasty clip.:)
That's all a bit... weird...
urrrgh...
You guys are joking, surely?
It's a charming clip, very amusing - or are we going to pretend that bogeys don't exist in the real world?
And thanks for the files, Christoph.
Haha -that´s great, really nice done.
Didn't like it. Not terrible CG but not brilliant. The story however had no appeal. Thought it was pretty nasty.
hahaha that's so funny! :D
provocative art , at its best ^^
Yuck, definitely not the best taste...The rendering was ok, but the concept and music....not so hot...
Could it be the alternate ending to "Suburban Plight"?
It's just a booger. Chill out. It's not half a nasty as the surprise ending of Big Buck Bunny, and even that was sophomorically funny. Thanks for the free model and rig! looks pretty cool. Saw Ely on Blendswap a few days ago.
thanks for the laugh.
p.s. put it on youtube, it might be a hit.
Lol, I saw the comments before watching and expected something really disturbing/disgusting. All I saw was a nose picking elephant.
Hi,
I know my video hast a reaction between
Urrgh and Ohhhh....
I was inspired by this song of gerhard Schoene because he sings:
"The longe eleant live in the nose of Elephands"
so the question was how dose the manage elephand thand?
and I luky find the anser by my self ;)
so dont forget your old children songs :D
Where's Bart? Some of these posts are going to the dogs, no concern for grammar, spelling, or anything...
As for the animation, what can I say. Not much to see...
Pawel,
are you so sure that what you wrote is following proper grammar as well? Is this not a little hypocritical?
What does this mean?
This scares me.
Sometimes it seems that Blendernation kingdom is under the grip of the Tea Party. So some people here like Blender freedom but not the freedom to do things. I'm referring too to a nudity debate I've seen here some time ago.
Perhaps nasty, but not unrespectful. I you don't like, don't see it. For the technical side, not the best thing seen, but not the worst either.
Thanks for sharing,
Raimon

Ok like i tried to say, I saw so many comments that i figured I should post.
I personally like seeing all types of projects made with blender, this one being no exception. Although the content is questionable and not really my taste, I can still see all the effort and thought that was put into this.
I personally wouldn't mind seeing this style in a few more skits, not necessarily the type of humor but I didn't think it was even all bad.
We should keep in mind that this is a short about an old nursery rhyme. Like it or leave it, Christoph is trying to breathe some new life into this old art form. FYI see http://www.rhymes.org.uk/.
I know my humor hit as well as my grammer do ;)
I shard thad Rigg with you gys to give you samthing to learn from and I am realy glade to seen you downloaded her now 373 time. this is great... thad means I did samthing right :D
To the amimation... I know (maybe now) bogey are not that popular... and this is okay...
but animation is about playing, it is about doing stupid things and samtimes you have to do play stupid things cause you can.
I know you cloud do the cool things like killer robots, monsters, giant space battels and so on... and this is fine
But you have to be a child for thad stuff caus whit out that child it wouldent became alive and this is animation means :D
so stard blender and do samthing silly right now
Raimon
you have some serious truth to that.
The arrogance and rudeness of some posters on this forum is mind bending.
I thought this is an open community?
ha ha ha, haven't even watched the animation but the posts are killing me!!! ha ha
@Christoph Pöhler
Quick suggestions:
Make sure that there's a little follow-through after movements. The best way I can describe this is that bodies do not come to rest, they "jiggle to rest". For instance, quickly outstretch your arm, and observe how it does not immediately stop, it moves around just a little.
Also, the animation would better be served by a non-white background. I think a cartoon-esque forest scene would do wonders for this, and make it look more complete.
@All
I do not believe anyone in this place is above politely providing critique for fellow artists, when in fact that is as good as anyone can get. Let's keep it classy guys and gals, we're better than that.
Blurghhhh.
What a beautiful little character. It has a lot of personality. Thanks.
That's awesome! (if you are three year old kid).
@cekuhnen
I'm pretty sure my comment is grammatically correct. Maybe I should have put a question mark after 'What can I say'? If there's anything else, point me to it.
Anyway, I think the authors of posts/articles are obliged to be a little more careful than authors of comments. Comments are just comments, by random people, who sometimes don't know the language well. But a post author cannot get away with sloppy language. Especially if it really is a result of sloppiness (like e.g. blatant spelling mistakes, or totally screwed up grammar), not incompetence.
My advice: Just re-read each post you write, see if everything makes sense.
And, of course, use a spell-checker. After all, nobody's perfect.
