Non-Blender: Amon Tobin

Ok, this is completely unrelated to Blender but I found this video about the new show of Amon Tobin SO inspiring that I wanted to share it with you. He's playing in Amsterdam next week and Ton, Pablo and I are going this Wednesday. Interested in joining us?

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Funny, just moments ago my brother told me he was performing in amsterdam. I'm now trying to get off from work.
I was in rotterdam at his cd release of foley room, it was breath taking!

Hope to see you guys there!

  2. I fell in love with Heather Shaw......................................... Ah?? Eeeh... Yes, really inspiring ^_^U

Thanks for this really interesting link Bart.

And especially thanks for the disclaimer, I'm a happy reader as long as I'm an informed reader. :D

Thanks for this interesting link. And especially thanks for the disclaimer, it makes more difference to my mindset than you likely know Bart.

  5. I've been a long time fan of Amon Tobin, and judging by the looks of this video it's as if his coverart came alive.
Just such a shame that it's so far away. Melkweeg makes me want to move to Amsterdam.

  6. aws357: I'm assuming you are talking about the screen in the back.
To me it doesn't look like that, based on the node-colours and -proportions...
The dark theme kinda fits but I don't think Blender is the only 3Dsoftware that has that kind of base theme colour...
It's a convenient tradeoff between neutral colour, enough difference from black and being dark enough to feel good for the eyes even after longer stares, so to speak...
