Beautiful work, especially on Sintel
Schöne Arbeit, vor allem auf Sintel
Very impressive!
Sehr beeindruckend!
Wonderful, I wish I could animate like that!
cracking
very good - every one looking highly polished and professional
Wow! I did his best on Sintel!
Dude to be honest you don't need the animation mentor stuff on there the sintel stuff knocks spots off of it, I got chills from some of the Sintel stuff so If i was reviewing your reel Sintel would be enough. Excelllent work though
great work! super impressive. I liked seeing the Biff rig in there to.
The composition with Sintel and that music is specially touching! Congratulations!
Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone!
Now to try to get a job with it...
@McPandaBurger: thanks for saying so. The idea is to show a variety of styles, as well as some specific skills (ie lip sync).
BTW, all but 3 of the scenes on this reel were animated in Blender. As comeinandburn pointed out, the second scene (my favourite) features Denny Lindberg's fantastic "Biff" rig.
Great Demoreel, very smooth. You will get a job very soon. Glad that you cut-off the reel right before Sintel kills the Dragon, ha ha ha
Great reel, Sintel is shining in it!
luvit :)
Nice animations, since sintel is the best looking one I suggest you put that first. You need to catch the attention of whoever is watching it. Look through a lot of reels at reelroulette (http://reelroulette.net/) and you'll start closing them if the beginning isn't engaging enough.
Great work; though I noticed on the "Biff" rig that the neck protrudes through the collar at some of the more extreme head poses. Since it is an animation reel I don't think that it takes away from though.
@Simon: I take your point, but disagree that Sintel is the best looking animation. Remember this is to showcase my character animation, it's not about nice lighting, rendering and such. The order of shots was based on suggestions by my last mentor, Sean Sexton - an animation supervisor from Dreamworks.
A showreel should be made to appeal to recruiters, not for public consumption.
The shots at the start might not be to your taste, but they show off some specific skills that recruiters are seeking.
That's the theory, anyway.
Nice work man!
Always loved your work, so great to see some stuff that i did not see of you before!
I had forgotten how gorgeous the animation in sintel was, I should go back and watch the whole thing again
Hey congratulations!!
