The FractureTools add-on is relatively unknown to the wider blender community, but no longer! Rainer Selvet has created a tutorial on how to use the pre-installed addon inside Blender 2.56, so you'll be blowing things up in no time!
After reading this tutorial you will be able to create fracture/shatter animations like in this video.

Cool, Thanks Rainer. And thanks to the coders that created this.
I've created a .PDF out of this and maybe after contacting him, he'll have this on his site as well for download.
Oh dang! This was something I really needed for my project! It's amazing how every time I think "MAN I wish Blender had something for this .." BAM there is something for exactly what I needed!
Thanks!
That was beautiful!
oh. awesome..
Coool
I'm glad I've been helpful. It sure is an add-on with numerous possibilities!
That's very cool. I had no idea it was already included. Will definitely check it out.
The above link is broken. Glad to see this and want to give it a look.
Link's working for me. Well it said link broken a couple of minutes ago, but for another post on blendernation.
I also added the .pdf mentioned in 1st post, thanks to FloridaJo.
OMG ! This is great, right on time to add another scene to my coming TREX-V4. May be breaking a big wall? Interesting, thanks for this !
The link is timing out.
Video tutorial please...It is a lot easier for newbies like me.
:o I thought that I knew everything in Blender.... Not. Great stuff here.
Amazing! Thank you very much!
Nice ! I was recently wondering how this addon was actually working :)
I followed the tutorial but I have a problem, the projectile goes through my cube (with shards), the collision does not seem to be detected ...
Nice tutorial.
I would suggest the Logic Bricks to be created automatically though. It can make people's life easier :) The API can handle all creation and logic linking process.
yeh that is API outdated problem
(more functionalities you can use in a script for 2.4 version)
more informations about 2.5 script condition (what author sad) you can find here
