The Blender made movie Plumiferos! Has been selected to become part of the Latino Film Festival in San Diego, competing under the Animation category.
For those who don't remember, Plumiferos! is a full lenght film made almost entirely with free software, mainly Blender. It was made by the argentinian Manos Digitales Animation Studio during three and a half years of labor and lots of troubles. The project was completed in 2009 and released in theaters in Argentina on February 18, 2010.

I understand that they hire new animator and finish with Maya 0r 3dmax instead.All because blender institution would not give them tech help. So please clear that for me any one.

I saw it at the cinema/theater. Plumiferos was made by Manos digitales http://www.plumiferos.com with all the people of Licuadora.
Yeah, I remember this. I looked at the site after I found out they finished it a few months ago. It's been a little while. They did a great job. I may not be Sintel, but, seriously, some people don't know how much work something like this is.
Ja, ich erinnere mich dieses. Ich schaute auf die Website nach fand ich heraus, dass sie es fertig vor ein paar Monaten. Es ist eine Weile gewesen. Sie hat einen tollen Job. Ich kann nicht Sintel, aber im Ernst, manche Leute wissen nicht, wieviel Arbeit so etwas ist.

Hey I hope someday the blender webpage gets interested in sell the dvd. Actually does anybody has any idea when it will come out to the stores? Or if it´s going to be shown in theatres internationally?
Hey, ich hoffe, eines Tages den Mixer Webseite in verkaufen die DVD bekommt interessiert. Eigentlich hat jemand eine Idee hat, wenn er kommen wird, die in die Läden? Oder wenn es geht um in den Kinos gezeigt international sein?
I suppose it is up to the producers and other investors to figure out that there is a huge market for this film in the Blender community and that they should approach the Blender Foundation and Ton to see how to market it through the store. I would buy it, even with subtitles, just to learn from it.

Sorry for this domper, but Plumiferos was not finished by the original director but was finished without his knowledge using, and here it comes, closed source software. At least that's what I understood from previous released information.
Sorry für diese domper, aber Plumiferos wurde nicht durch die ursprüngliche Regisseur fertig, wurde aber ohne sein Wissen mit Hilfe fertig, und hier kommt es Closed-Source-Software. Zumindest ist das, was ich von früheren veröffentlichten Informationen verstanden.

and it seems the Edit button doesn't seem to work with Opera (11.01 : 1190). on WinXP.
the screen dims but nothing shows up. I think it's an Ajax thing. i have Ajax issues with other sites.
edit: vor über einem Jahr. und es scheint, auf die Schaltfläche Bearbeiten scheint nicht mit Opera (11,01: 1190). auf WinXP. der Bildschirm verdunkelt, aber nichts erscheint. Ich denke es ist eine Ajax-Ding. Ich habe Probleme mit Ajax anderen Websites.

Hi, I need to clarify a little bit. "Plumiferos" was made by "Manos Digitales Animation Studio" not by "Licuadora Studio". While we indeed were an important part of that studio and project, Licuadora is a newer enterprise and has no relation with the former Manos Digitales.
Said that, it'll be great that Manos Digitales releases a DVD version some day :)

Während wir in der Tat ein wichtiger Teil der Studio-und Projekt ist eine neuere Licuadora Unternehmen und hat keine Beziehung mit der ehemaligen Manos Digitales. Sagte, dass, es wird großartig, dass Manos Digitales eine DVD-Version eines Tages veröffentlicht:)
