"Remake" is a build system based on GNU Make, created for managing animation project. It was made by Konstantin Dmitriev, the guy behind Morevna Project, the open source animation project we published their story a few years ago.
Alexandre Prokoudine writes:
Morevna Project team, who work on their open anime movie, created their own solution for automatic repeated rendering. The tool is called Remake and is based on GNU make. It's very much like software build systems: what it does is tracking changes in footage files, detecting dependencies between them and re-rendering the footage.
Remake is built around workflow in Morevna Project, thus it supports Synfig, which is the main production tool, and Blender. The new version, released on August 31, adds support for Blender 2.5+ and running several jobs in parallel. It also supports saving the current rendering into a video file to track changes as you go.
