John, sounds great, but im down in Denver and have plans to go to a concert tonight, otherwise it would be great to have conversations. Just finished a 50 hour render in Blender for some motion graphics for the big TEDxDU event next month.
For someone like me who has done all the Blender Basics series and absolutely loves learning new things in Blender I'd love to go and meet you and others but unfortunately I live no where near Colorado, but hope it all goes well.
@Chris - I'll schedule another for next month. I'd love to hear about your project.
@Ben - Where are you located? It'd be great to have someone there who's been through my courses.
I'll echo Blender Nation's apology for the short notice. I posted on Sunday at BlenderArtists.org and neglected to post here (blush). To BN's credit, they posted this fast! I'll give more of a head's up for the second meeting, once I schedule it.
I'm glad to see some Blender activity in CO. I live in Denver. I can not make it to this one, but hopefully I can make it to a future event.
Good luck to you Coloradans.
Is there a list of Blender user groups by region someplace?
@tallguy: I'm working on a way to add user groups to BlenderNation Links. Not sure how to handle the region system yet, but I'll figure it out :)
yay! Finally a Colorado user group. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it tomorrow night because, (slightly embarrassed) I have a 3D MAX class at that same time, but i will defiantly be on the lookout for future meetings.
On a note for future meetings, I live up in Fort Collins, are there any other northern CO. people who would want to attend these? Carpooling? or even a meeting place farther north?
Very interested in this as I live here in Colorado myself! Gonna see if I can't pop over there tomorrow for a hello. :)
I would love to go, but I have other plans. Keep us posted on future meetings, and Go Rockies!
This sounds great! Unfortunately, this week won't work for me due to a conflict with my job, but I'll keep an eye out for future meetings. I'm up in the Loveland area, so atskill, I'd be interested in carpooling or meetings up north as well.
So in general Colorado Blender users are either way south of me or way north of me. And here I thought being closer to the Denver Tech Center was an advantage! ;-)
I look forward to seeing you Joe!
For those of you familiar with Bits of Blender (BitsOfBlender.com), my co-host Richard will also be there :-)
Have a great meeting! I wish I could be there, but NE Tennessee is a little too far. It is great to see so many regional groups starting up. We meet here in Kingsport, TN the second Sunday of each month and always have a good time. Best of luck getting this going out in CO.
I just created a facebook page for the group:

You don't have to be on facebook to view it.
@Bryon Thanks!
I was amazed when I saw this. Usually I see events happening in other states, or entirely different countries.
I'll try to make it, I guess!
@John R. Nyquist I'm located in Australia, I'm the same guy who contacted you not to long ago about a wind problem after following Logic Bricks.
I'm further North (well, actually Northeast Colorado). I'd love to come to a blender group as I'm just getting started in this. I'm a high school teacher, and will be using blender in an advanced graphics course next year. If you have more groups (especially some groups this summer) I'd be very interested.
Thanks!
Another vote for the north side of Denver. I am in Longmont. Actually, it is my son (14yrs) that has taken a lasting interest in Blender. He really wanted to go to the user group, but it didn't work out for us to get there. Hopefully next time...
This group sounds cool. I haven't gotten into Blender yet but have bee working in Cinema 4D an Modo 401. I'm also in Longmont so I'b be open do meeting farther north too. Dave A and Atskill, let's discuss carpool or some way for those of us up here to share ideas.
