Andy Goralczyk has posted an interesting new video on his blog. The video is a timelapse of his progress entering into the Blending life contest currently being held over on Blenderartists.org, something worth checking out.
Andy Goralczyk was the art director of both Elephants Dream and Big Buck Bunny, who also recently produced the Creature Factory DVD. This timelapse looks like the first in a series of videos detailing the stages of work Andy goes through to model his entry into the Blending life contest. The insight into his techniques are interesting to watch and educational (although somewhat scary to see what your up against if your also entering the contest).
During the first timelapse video Andy begins the realistic model of a male mans head. He works on the eyes, nose, ears and mouth finishing with a neatly modeled face. You can view the video and writeup on Andys blog, or directly on Vimeo by clicking the image below.

Lordy the man is a Ninja. Great stuff.
Awesome stuff, whats that little picture viewer program he is using that stays above his Blender window?
Great stuff! Fantastic work, and actually very enjoyable to watch.

That's way too old post from Andy, but absolutely worth seeing!
I'm keen on seeing the results of the 'Blending Life' contest, the judges are at it now..
BTW, I can't see Andy entry in the contest posts?!
Awesome!
This reminds me that I have such a time-lapse of HD Render Man's and my sadly unfinished entry for Blending Life (the modeling was all finished and recorded except for the inside of the mouth; only the material stuff was not finished). I shall try to upload it soon, if I find the time.
@Ganth: In ubuntu, there is an option to make a window always on top.
Hey, Interview with Andy in the "Related Psts" entry above is not working... I want to see this!! Can anyone translate it?
Gosh, I wish I could model away like that... too good!
@Ganth - Probably - Eye of GNOME. I guess xD
It's kind of interesting, that he models high poly from the start and adds detail by detail...
What i would do is block out the basic shapes for the head in low poly and sculpt my way to it afterwards.
