Can you create some great looking 2D graphics in Blender? Sure you can! LightningIsMyName explains how.

I have a tutorial about creating SVG style vector graphics inside Blender. They can't be exported to SVG (yet) but they have the look of works which were done in Inkscape/Illustrator.
I always liked illustrations which seems a bit cartoonish and vector style. Many work I have seen with inkscape and illustrator astonished me. Since i can't download inkscape for now, All i was left to do was to be jealous...
Recently I found several techniques to transform blender into an illustration program such as inkscape/illustrator. With special shaders and nodes I succeeded in several effects. See the image attached for this post - all of them are vectors in blender internal with no pixel based textures.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look in to this more and give that tutorial a go, as I'd love to create some Vector images in Blender.
I need to try this Soon thanks LightningIsMyName :-)
sounds cool... thanks!
Huh ... this is pretty nifty. Too bad it can't export to SVG yet, but that's another implementation I'm sure Blender will have in the future.
Interesting idea. But I think I'll stick with Illustrator, it's the industry standard anyway.
Just use Inkscape (free and Open source) instead and use Blender's SVG import functionality. Works much better as the drawing of such things in Inkscape is about a hundred times easier.

Thanks for the tutorial! I also seem to recall that SVGs can be used as a texture via a plugin, so now we can mix and match and extend!
there was a good flash exporter for blender , look at that too as its easy to convert fla to svg
cool!!
yeah, designing in Inkscape and importing to Blender is an excellent choice... except at least once I have had some nasty deformities (unusable ones) with my imports.
