Here's a nice timelapse video, created by tonkv, demonstrating several of Blender functions.
It's always a learning experience when you get to watch someone else work and this video covers a wide array of functions.
The video demonstrates:
- Modeling a CRT Computer Monitor
- Modeling a Dolphin
- Rigging/Animating a Simple Fish
- Creating Shape Keys for a Mouth
- SoftBodies Cloth Simulating
- and more
Length: 18:24 minutes
File Size: 46.1 MB
Format: AVI (best viewed with the VLC media player)
Audio: Music, no narrative
You can download the video, here. There's also a Chinese discussion thread.

great video thx for sharing, also good to see you use a standard video codex and people dont have tyo install some arcane video viewer.
I like to play it in the mpc player that can also play at slower rates that makes following the steps you do easier. realy good demo of what can be done in blender.
As a Blender noob, this video was inspiring!
Please, it will be nice to know witch codec is used. I cant see it, and i don't want another player on my system.
Thanks for video!
Good Video, but a Tutorial would be nice.
Just use the VLC media player, as suggested.
Really nice! I love those timelapse blender videos.
All reasonable players should play this just fine. Use VLC or mplayer on linux; on windows try VLC, or if you insist to use WMP, you might need to install something like ffmpeg.
Windows Media Player is archaic. VLC FTW!
Great video.
If there's no narrative why bother with audio at all? All you've done is increase the file size.... what's the point?
Amaising thing!
It is always inspiring to see other guys work with blender. A loopcut is so much more powerfull instead of using several extrusions, like I would have done it.
Thanks for sharing this.

that was a great demoreel and also a zen adventure
Took me a ocuple tries to get it downloaded right. For anyone curious, the codec is FMP4 and if you're running windows like I am, then I suggest hunting down the CCCP
This was wonderful! I was thinking it would be hard to follow, but was not. I learned a lot. It is amazing how many ways there are to model things in Blender.
The music was an added treat! For me, music activates an entirely different part of the brain, and may have even made the learning easier. Great job, tonkv, and thank you for taking the time to make this video, and sharing it with all of us.

I think answer to question why there is music instead of narration is in this phrase ;)
"There's also a Chinese discussion thread."
And thanks a lot for the video, I like vedeo tutorials and such.
I watched the monitor and the dolphin, then the video cut short.
