Blender.org Gallery Updated (Finally!)

20

66dz1.jpgFirst, before saying anything, please allow me to publicly apologize for the extreme delay in updating the gallery on Blender.org. I slipped up and missed the March update and for that I'm sincerely sorry. I won't let that happen again. That said, there have some really great submissions in the last two months! The gallery has been updated and you can see how much good work is coming out of our community. The current gallery page has work from April and here's a direct link to the March gallery. Which ones are your favorites?

  1. So you guys never accept my work than?

    this is kinda sad.

obviously my professional work is not good enough for this gallery.

    pretty questionable.

  2. Some pretty nice renders in there.

@cekuhnen: You've submitted some of your artwork . . . and it's never been included? Strange, because your skill and results are great! But you probably already realize that . . . so don't let exclusion from some online gallery discourage you.

I think that I will soon (relatively speaking) be able to submit something . . . if that doesn't get in, then we know there's a problem here! :)

  3. @cekuhnen: I'm sorry your work didn't get in. I never saw the image. For some reason, the submission form on blender.org wasn't transferring files that were over 500kB. I sent out emails explaining this to all submitters whose submissions did not have an attached image. You were among the the 85 submitters on that list. Sadly, I never received a reply from you (and many other very talented users). But since I never saw an actual submitted image, there's no way I could include it in the gallery. Nothing questionable. Just a technical/communications problem.

I don't think the issue with the submission form is quite resolved yet, but please re-submit your work. You can either wait until the form is fixed (I'll post here to let you know) or submit with a link to the image hosted somewhere on the Internet.

  4. I'm sure that's exactly why it's not appeared there. Hopefully next gallery :)

My faves are little girl, N66 and the sink.

  5. All my work I submitted sofar, beginning with my mfa work got never in.

I responded to your email and send an email with the image attached.

Since I never got than any responce I thought all worked out - meaning the files were transfered.

Which email adress should I use for you to resubmit?

  6. My faves are "Jack Blenderson" (if I squint, I'm seeing a photo), "Spacescape" (delightful old-school eyecandy), and "Branching Out" (just... wow). Great work all around.

Provided the artists are fine with it, I wouldn't mind to get higher resolutions in the gallery, as details still tend to be a bit difficult to make out in the large versions.

  7. I like 'Grecia', "Sunny Day" and "The Owner #2" - I thought that the March gallery was better in general; having said that, I'd love to see 'DJ' once the author has taken advantage of the new SSS in blender 2.44 even though I thought the arms were a little thin! Well done to all who got their work included!
    -epat. :)

  8. cekuhnen, I've seen some of your work at BA and they are pretty good. But blender.org seems to have a very strict screening process. As long as you get a confirmation email, that means they got your image.

  9. @Fweeb:
"Nothing questionable. Just a technical/communications problem."
Meanwhile it might be good idea to mention this on the submission page.

    @cekuhnen:
Stop beating the person who spends much more hours in getting this gallery done then you in submitting an image. Fweeb has a pretty knowable email.
Meanwhile post a link here to your gallery so we can judge for ourselfs :P

  10. Wow, that one by free_ality is just amazing.... ;P

N#66 is by far the best, IMO

Sweet model, great textures, I remember when that got finished.....
