Already more than three weeks have passed since we finished our BlenderNation Birthday Fundraiser so it's time for an update. The status so far: the money (€ 2,995,-) was transported from PayPal to my private account within one week. So far so good. But then there was a bit of an unexpected complication: my creditcard is only good for € 2,500,- per month! Feeling pretty stupid that I hadn't thought of that before, I have now requested an increase in my spending limit which I expect to receive next week or so. Once it's in, the classroom, goats and alpaca's are good to go!
I'll keep you posted,
Bart

Just for my understanding: Why do you need a credit card, to transfer the money to that aid organization? Can't you just transfer it using you bank account?
Well... either way I really appreciate what you're doing.. keep it up!
greetings, Tom
Yea 3 cheers for Bart!
I can't remember anymore, but was there any word about how long this classroom is build before they're starting to teach?
Hope, there aren't any more probs^^
Is it really necessary to use the credit card?
Anyway, great, I can't believe it even now, that this fund raiser brought 2995$!!
Paypal was just a means to make it easy for us to send money to Bart. However, that money has to be transferred to the final recipients. I'm guessing that the credit card is the fastest and easiest way to do that. Writing a check wouldn't make sense and you certainly don't want to use Western Union or some other similar type of service because of the high fees involved.
Maybe Bart wants the air-miles? (Joke!)
Seriously, its more secure to use a credit card, and sometimes its the only way web based payments to charities can accept it.
that is a funny story about the limit. lol it is most times the other way around.
My credit card limit is WAAYYY too high, that reminds me I must ask them to lower it...
good stuff Bart
Keep it up!
Dave
For their account administration I'm pretty sure Charities prefer cheques and transfers (if you use your credit card the issuer gets a small amount, plus the card tax). Anyhow, well done all and thanks to Bart !
lol that's funny!
well... a nice excuse for getting more credit :P
