Wim Claes shares a .blend file that he created to learn the basics of the Blender animation tools.
You can use the file to experiment with techniques such as driven keys and the NLA editor and the model is fun to work with.
That said, I think that the file could be more useful if it also provided some documentation on the setup.
You can download Squeek from Wim's website. The file is shared under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.

cute model, should be a lot of fun to play with
It's real fun. I will recommend it to my students.
Thanks for the "bird"!
So I'm a noob at Blender. How come when I render frames or the whole animation its just a blue frames over and over?
@ WiFiWalrus
Is the camera aimed at you models?

I had same problem. Make sure all the layers are selected b4 u render / animate.
I have a .blend file of the "Billiard Ball" character that I created for the BlenderArtists recent challenge#36.
