Orange Update: Call for Translations, Call for Textures

0

orange whiteWhen Project Orange started, one of the ideas that was going around was to involve the community by having them make props or scripts. Probably the team reasoned that it was more work to coordinate such a community effort then it was to make all the stuff by themselves. Also, how do you involve a group without giving away too much of the plot? Once the team buried themselves in their work we didn't hear from the community effort again.

Until now that is. The time has come for some work that CAN be handed over properly: translating the subtitles and creating textures.

By now (I've been a bit lazy in reporting this), the subtitles are already covered but the call for textures still stands. If you'd like to help out, please head over to the Orange site. Do note the strict conditions though: all the submitted textures must be absolutely rights-free as they will be published under the Creative Commons license.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
