nawabz wrote us about a nice video tutorial by David Ward from BlenderCookie.com. The video started by adding the default human meta-rig template then adding basic IKs for the arm and leg and a fews constraints to the palm and fingers to make them form a perfect fist. The tutorial uses b-bone for nicely twisting forearms, spine and neck. Check out the video from his site.

Paul Caggegi released 2 video tutorials of his character modeling using Blender 2.49b this month. The first one released on August 10th is about the boot tongue and laces, adding more details with extrusion, edge-loops, altering crease weight, and modeling with Bézier curves. The tutorial will cover 16 must-known Blender 2.5 commands and shortcuts, starting from grabbing, rotating and scaling objects then get into the edit mode to modify the mesh data. As a whole, Endre Baráth’s [endi] short movie ‘A Very Little Warrior‘ was well received in March on Blendernation. People felt that the technique was awesome, but that the animation and story could use some more work. He has now published the ‘making of’, so you can now all do better than him ;-)
