One of the programmes at CERN is looking for a multimedia intern for fall 2009. To apply, you have to create a video/multimedia project about CERN. Personally, I dislike their conditions (all submitted work will become their property, for example), but this might just be your chance for an interesting internship.
Pildanovak has developed a very useful composite node which can make bas-reliefs out of regular 3d models. Originally bas-reliefs can be seen throughout the art history but are very difficult to make by hand (be it in real-life or 3d).

cmiVFX have announced their second Blender training video. This one is created by Sebastian König (see also Sebastian's other videos on BlenderNation) and focuses on organic modeling techniques such as sculpting, weight mapping, retopology and shrink wrapping.

Pepe-School-Land students are doing some awesome modeling and animation in Blender as evidenced by these videos. The demo reel has a mixture of work done in Blender and other programs and is well worth watching. A Blender icon will appear in the lower left hand corner of the demo to designate work completed in Blender.
Here's a good demonstration by Allan Brito of 'light groups', a feature of LuxRender that makes it very easy to tweak the settings of the lights in your scene. (Remember to turn on 'HD' once you're over at Vimeo).

CGtuts+, the new CG tutorials site opened today by the Envato Network, if offering their first Blender tutorial on Low-Poly modeling and the creation of normal maps. If you're interested in writing for them: they pay $150 for tutorials. Maybe that's a nice way to make some more money with Blender for you?

The Spanish company Suresnet in Murcia is offering a 150-hour(!) Blender training. The training is commercial and not cheap (but then again you'll get 150 hours of training), but they'll offer a shorter version in the future as well.
