Cherylynn from Rosemoth presents a six-part tutorial on the creation of a low-poly character.
In this series I'm going to be taking you step-by-step into my process of creating a low-poly human model, with clothing and accessories. I know Blender has a confusing interface, and I struggled for a while trying to find a process that worked for me... So I thought I'd help you guys out.
Update: video one has been deleted - start at video two of the series (click the widget in the video on the top-left).

You used neons and triangles. Isn't that a problem for the mesh ?
Nah not for low poly, if you use em in places where they won't mess up your deformations then you're all good.
I mean ngons instead of neons :-) .
Let me guess: autocorrect? :)
Right guess. Haha
I can't follow along with this video it goes to fast this isn't a tutorial this is a speed through modeling.
Did you see it's a 6 part playlist?
