ATLAS - Sci-Fi Short Film

11

Beyond Jupiter, beyond Saturn, communications take four hours to travel to and from Earth. In the impenetrable radio silence, utterly inexplicable and alone, an impossible thing softly calls.

Ben Jewer writes:

I recently finished work on this three-minute short film for the Into Film: Into Space competition, the theme for which was Space & Exploration. The majority of the visual effects were created in Blender 2.76, with some comp work in After Effects CC making use of Optical Flares. Most significantly, the planet Neptune was created using entirely procedural cycles materials, allowing shots from almost any angle or distance without loss of detail or pixellation occurring. The spacecraft itself also made heavy use of procedural textures.

Cheers,
Ben

    ...THE DEFAULT CUBE...

  2. it has some glitches, probably due to time constraints, but there's movie culture, good visuals... very promising artist

  3. I'm sorry Dave i cannot allow any human beeing to jeopardize the mission, its to important.

(And as you know no HAL computer has ever failed a mission.)
