10

Fluid Designer introduces its first commercial add-on for cabinet design.

Andrew Peel writes:

We have just released the Cabinet Library for Fluid Designer.

This add-on can be purchased from the Microvellum Web store, and until August 31st you can enter in the coupon code ‘fluiddesignerpro’ to get 20% off.

If you purchase the cabinet library add-on then you will receive access to the Cabinet Library Add-on, Additional Libraries, and access to the support site where you can view, documentation, video tutorials, and support forums. I hope everyone find the add-on helpful. If anyone has any questions you can contact me through twitter @andrewpeel_dev or through the contact page on the Microvellum website

I wonder, is it the reasonwhy they removed public acess to existing FluidDesigner forum where you were able to view, documentation, video tutorials, and get support?
    not cool Microvellum, not cool..

    • Hi Sam,

We still have free support for the Fluid Designer Application. We just created a new category with information and training specific to the Cabinet Library. If you had access to the Fluid Designer Support Page before then you should still have access. I explain more information about the support site in this video.

I hope this clears things up.

      • Microvellum was selling it for $250, but they just took it down. We are going to be releasing a new version soon, and we will also have a free version of the cabinet library available as well.

As I see this is more oriented to the American market because all the models are specific to their kind of design. What about a library for the European market?

Also how is working the integration with Toolbox for documentation and CNC program generation?

    • The Library can be customized. This includes changing everything from the hardware, construction styles, door styles, joinery type, and materials. So we should be able to configure the library to meet the needs for the European market. Also, when users purchase Toolbox they are assigned a toolfile technician that creates a toolfile for their CNC machine. They are also given access to the Toolbox training videos with the option to have onsite integration, or one-on-one online training.

  3. I noticed all the dimensions in this video are in inches! Please remember that this makes the libraries completely irrelevant to most of the planet, since the kitchen and furniture industry is based entirely around mm sizes - 600 mm, 500 mm and 300 mm are typical kitchen cabinet widths. Are there metric cabinet libraries available?

    • Yeah switching to metric is an option that can be found in the File Menu > Unit Type > Metric. I use imperial because that's what I am familiar with, but switching to millimeters is just a click away.

  4. I have recently installed Fluid designer but half the librarys are missing... I don't have any Extrusions, or Cabinets or anything, seems weird :s
