Long Forgotten

A beautiful still life by Mason Menzies.

Mason Menzies writes:

When ever i went to make a render i was making it just for the sake of making it. so a couple of weeks ago i started working on this piece.

it was just a project to show off the knit material but then it became more too me then just that. i wanted to cause an emotion in the viewer. so i started to think what kind of story i could fit in the image. I will tell you the story i had in mind but keep in mind everybody has their own idea of story, and that's a great thing in my eyes. but here is what i see when i look at it.

Here is where knit socks for my grandkids, here is where i spent my time, here is where i fell asleep, here is the spot that i hope will never be long forgotten.

I hope you can see the story in the image and i hope you can see your own interpretation as well.

i was not sure about how people would react to the render so i was a bit on edge when i posted it. not only did i get great feedback from friends and fellow hobbyists but i got amazing feedback from some of my favorite artists:

Andrew Price

"WHOA! Hot diggity that's incredible. Really fantastic work!"

Reynante Martinez

"It shows so little yet it tells so much - which is a magnificent thing!"

Gleb Alexandrov

"Wow! Mason, that looks awesome! Very solid render in terms of lighting"
