The Story of the Croissant

2

It's time for a little education here on BlenderNation - here's the history of the croissant.
Fernando García "Fegrodz" writes:

Hello!

This is a little animation that I made entirely in Blender, as part of a cultural Festival at "Centro de Enseñanza de Lenguas Extranjeras" (CELE) UNAM, Mexico City.

The animation, (which by the way is in French, because I study this amazing language at this place) tells the story of the origin of the piece of bread known as 'Croissant'.

The voices and other assets, such as the sound effects, were provided by my partners at this Center of studies. They did an outstanding job.

I also used GIMP to create and adjust a couple of images, and the NI MATE software in order to animate the characters by means of motion capture.

I put subtitles to the youtube video in spanish, english and also in french, so you can easily understand its content.

I really hope you like it!
A little about myself: I studied a mathematics bachelor at the Autonomous University of Mexico or "Universidad Autónoma de México" (UNAM) by its name in spanish. I've been using Blender since two years ago, but this is the first time that I put myself to the test by using all my knowledge of this software for this single project, since the deadline to present this video was one month since the begining of the project.

  1. It's always pleasant to see students use Blender and more again who like the French :)
but at the end, the sentence "Qui est-ce qui ont donné l'alerte dans la ville de l'invasion?" is so wrong, you must say : "Qui donnèrent l'alerte dans la ville de l'invasion? "
same thing for "qu'est-ce qui représente le croissant?" must be "Que représente le croissant?"
and "Comme est-que l'empire ottoman s'appelle maintenant" (it's the worst of the three) must be: "Comment s'appelle maintenant l'empire ottoman?"

    • Mmm,you're right hehe. To be completely honest, the part of the questions was the latest to be added to the animation. When our teacher saw that part of the video, she said that we needed to correct the questions, but we were running out of time to present the video, so she decided to leave it that way. By the way, thanks a lot for the corrections, I will definitely take that into account :D.
