For this artwork I used Zbrush to sculpt, and blender to texture, shade, light and render the final image.
I used Photoshop to do the compositing work afterwards. I wanted to capture realism, but I also wanted it to feel like an artwork rather than a photo. For that reason I used a lighting setup similar to a real world "studio setup", but also subtly exaggerated some features, especially the eyes and glasses.
The result is something that I'm rather satisfied with..
