Free Add-on: Material by Angle


SpaghetMeNot shares a simple modifier that applies materials based on face normals.

I made it to help block out game levels quickly but I thought others might find other applications.
Included are three assets:

  • Material By Normal — Use as a modifier or in geometry nodes.
  • Material Specified — Checks if input material is empty. For use in other tools.
  • Group Faces By Normal — Face group logic as it’s own node asset. For use in other tools.
