Roblox announced they have joined the Blender Foundation’s Development Fund as a corporate Silver member.
In addition, Roblox has released an open source add-on for Blender that allows 3D content to be created in Blender and published to Roblox seamlessly, without leaving Blender.
Stef Corazza, who previously founded Mixamo and now leads engineering for Roblox’s flagship creation tool Roblox Studio, had the following to say:
“Blender is the most popular external tool used by Roblox’s creator community today. Every day, thousands of creators import vivid and detailed 3D content from tools like Blender into their Roblox experiences.
We are thrilled to be supporting the Blender Foundation’s work delivering world-class 3D tooling and are excited to see closer integration continue to drive high-quality creation on Roblox. Roblox also presents a fantastic opportunity for the Blender Community to find new opportunities for their creativity by creating and selling 3D avatar items for rich immersive 3D experiences.”
In recent years, Roblox has dramatically expanded the visual capabilities of its platform, including support for PBR textures, custom materials, facial animations, and layered 3D clothing.
Roblox has paid out $701M to its creator community in the past 12 months*, and in recent years a large market for 3D avatar items has emerged, supporting a growing group of digital fashion designers, 3D modelers, and 3D artists.

Nice!
Awesome news! That Roblox Creator Hub link is broken. It has an extra `www.` prepended to the host in the link
Fixed, thanks!
