Reel: Netco Animation Production 2023

3

Turkish studio Netco Production Animation has fully switched to Blender. They present their 2023 reel and give an overview of their impressive Blender work.

I would like to present our projects at Netco Production Animation that we have created using Blender. We use Blender for a variety of projects, including those currently in progress, in addition to the projects we showcase. Enjoy watching!

We are a team of approximately 20 people in Turkey, and about 3 years ago, we changed pipeline from Maya to Blender. Currently, for our ongoing projects, including effects, we use Blender for various aspects. Our first project, “Emiray Cevre Mufettis,” was the initial project we completed with Blender.

One of our significant projects is “Elif ve Arkadaslari Kapadokya,” which stands out as our largest project, being an animation film lasting over 1 hour. We pushed the boundaries of Blender in many ways and completed it in a relatively short time, around 1 year, using the Cycles render engine. Despite various challenges, especially in the VDB area, we did our best.

Apart from “Elif ve Arkadaslari Kapadokya,” our project “Kucuk Hafiz Emin” has more of an anime style, and after a long R&D process using Eevee, we prepared it. Another project, “Hay Hak,” is a television series we developed once our pipeline was established.

In addition to these projects, we continually experiment with different styles through background projects, aiming to enhance our company and introduce innovations. We strive to utilize Blender to its fullest extent, demonstrating its applicability in large projects. You can find our company’s website and project videos through the provided links. If you have any specific questions or if there’s anything else you’re curious about, feel free to ask, and I’ll be happy to provide more detailed answers.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
