Shaders Plus: The add-on that allows you to achieve Real-Time Caustics, Dispersion, and physically accurate Thin-Film Interference effects to the default BSDF shaders!

The Real-Time Caustics are possible through utilizing the shadow information of your object, through a shader, allowing it to emulate realistic shadow-caustic effects. This allows you to achieve high quality caustics on even the slowest of computers!

Here are some example of that!

This Shader Addon also provides effects into the default BSDF shaders, that were previously exclusive to paid 3rd party render engines, such as Octane, Redshift, or Arnold. Features such as Glass Dispersion, and Physically Accurate Thin-Film Interference.

In short, Dispersion is when you can see a rainbow of colors in certain areas of transparent objects, like Glass, Plastic, or Water. Sort of like an internal prism, or chromatic abberation.
Here are some examples...

Thin-Film Interference is like the magic that makes oil spots shine with colors on the road, or turns soap bubbles into wavy rainbows. It's even why some anodized metals look colorful, or pearlescent! Instead of using a full rainbow, it procedurally, physically accurately produces a short line of colors that keep repeating in pairs until they turn kind of gray. Pioneered by Robert Moerland, PhD, this effect makes it possible to get those accurate, industry standard results in Blender for the first time ever!

Here are some Thin Film examples...
