I just came across this video by Tradigital in which he explains how to set up an (extremely complicated!) geometry nodes setup to act as a camera filter that generates a very convincing painting effect for your scenes. You may have to watch it a few times to get all the details, but the approach is super interesting. An advanced version of the filter is available on the Blender Market too.
