Hi, my name is Jan and I help companies by creating short videos for their websites and internal use, mostly as a freelancer for agencies. I post daily one-minute tutorials for Blender users and wrote the popular "Blender Secrets" e-books.

  1. What would make this feature even more powerful is if it was combined with vertex colour painting. So you could have a brush for a vector displacement map with colours as well, and add something like a whole coloured detail onto something in one brush stroke. Just click and bam there's a rusted bolt or flesh toned ear or whatever.

  2. I'm new to Blender and I'd like to use the VDM but have no clue how to import it. I know how to install add-ons but I don't see the file I downloaded in the Add-ons. So how do I install the VDM?
