Blender constantly gets new features and functionality from one release to another. But is there another advantage to using a new version, as well?
We tested several Blender versions with a number of projects in order to see if newer releases render faster compared to the older ones. Read on to see the numbers and the conclusions we came to.

Its not a link, we can do better.
Fixed - thanks for letting me know!
I am happy with rendering times in Blender, Cycles is extremely fast and efficient. This what bothers me about Blender is the viewport responsiveness and how it handles big scenes. We all want multithreaded, faster viewports for large scenes, high-density meshes, and sculpting.
