Recently I have finished a four part series on a Lord of the Rings style fantasy ring design for Blender on my YouTube channel (linked below). In this series, I teach artists how to do some basic and more advanced hard-surface modeling, materials, rendering and compositing to create the final image seen in this article's headline. I think it is a great project for anyone wanting to render a very realistic and artistically inspired design.
