Blender 3.0 Massive Speedup in Keyframe Drawing

Another day, another massive performance improvement patch gets committed to the upcoming Blender 3.0 release, which is shaping up to have a sizeable performance boost across the board on top of the showstopper new features planned.

This latest update deals with keyframe drawing performance, which while might seem innocuous, can actually have a severe performance impact on big production scenes displaying lots of keyframed animation. The patch enables the multithreaded building of keys that need to be drawn and resulted in a massive 4X increase on developer Jeroen Bakker's machine. The speedup is immediately noticeable in the video above.
